Catering Event Captain
As an Event Captain at Encore Catering, you will lead by example and embody our core values of professionalism, hospitality, and excellence. You’ll be at the forefront of executing exceptional catered experiences across a variety of events. In this role, you’ll coordinate front-of-house event staff, oversee the smooth delivery of food and beverage service, and ensure every guest interaction reflects Encore’s high standards. Your leadership, attention to detail, and commitment to customer satisfaction will be key to creating memorable moments for our clients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Team Leadership
Lead and motivate the catering team—including servers, bartenders, and support staff—to deliver exceptional service that aligns with the event’s goals and Encore’s commitment to excellence.
Event Coordination
Collaborate closely with the Encore planning team to fully understand event details such as menu selections, dietary needs, and service preferences—ensuring flawless execution in line with the client’s vision.
Client Communication & Support
Serve as the on-site liaison for clients, maintaining clear and proactive communication throughout the event. Anticipate needs, address concerns, and ensure client expectations are exceeded.
Setup & Preparation
Oversee all setup and staging of food and beverage service areas. Ensure equipment, utensils, and serving stations are clean, organized, and fully stocked before guests arrive.
Food & Beverage Execution
Supervise the timely and polished service of all food and beverage items, upholding Encore’s standards for presentation, freshness, and quality at all times.
Guest Engagement
Interact with guests professionally and warmly, resolving inquiries or concerns on the spot to ensure an outstanding dining experience.
Problem Solving
Respond quickly and effectively to unexpected issues—whether staffing adjustments, equipment malfunctions, or last-minute client requests—maintaining poise under pressure.
Quality Assurance
Monitor food and beverage service throughout the event to ensure compliance with health regulations and internal quality benchmarks.
Breakdown & Clean-Up
Lead the efficient tear-down of service areas, ensuring that all equipment is properly packed, spaces are clean, and nothing is left behind.
Event Documentation
Maintain accurate records of guest counts, service notes, and inventory usage to support post-event reporting and continuous improvement.
Fluent in English; bilingualism is a strong asset
Clear and effective communication is essential for client interaction and team coordination. Multilingual skills are a plus in serving our diverse clientele.
Proven experience in catering or hospitality leadership
A background in catering, event service, or hospitality management—especially in fast-paced environments—is essential. You have a history of delivering exceptional guest experiences with professionalism and poise.
Strong leadership and team management skills
Able to lead by example, you inspire and motivate a diverse team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing service environment.
Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities
You're detail-oriented, can juggle multiple tasks under pressure, and ensure that no element of the guest experience is overlooked.
Knowledge of food safety and service standards
You’re well-versed in food handling, sanitation protocols, and industry regulations—and you hold yourself and your team accountable for upholding them.
Schedule flexibility
Willing and able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event demands. Adaptability is key to success in this dynamic role.
